The 2018 Somms Under Fire Cocktail Challenge featured Citadelle Gin de France. Citadelle Gin is produced in the South-West of France, the birthplace of another fine spirit. As it was produced in the 17th century, Citadelle Gin is distilled in small copper pot stills with a naked flame. Using centuries old know-how passed down through five generations of master distillers, Alexandre Gabriel and the Pierre Ferrand cellar master have brought back to market a complex, refined and elegant gin.
This year, Somms Under Fire contestants were challenged to create a Craft Cocktail Recipe using Citadelle Gin de France. They were required to present a personal narrative with their selected ingredients, garnish, style, and presentation of Citadelle Gin de France.
Craft Bartender and Director of Bars and Beverage at La Corsha Hospitality Group, Cocktail Judge Jason Stevens was joined by Master Sommelier David Keck of Goodnight Charlie's in Houston, Texas to pick the winner of the 2018 Somms Under Fire Citadelle Gin de France Cocktail Champion. The winner won a competitive advantage in the main Somms Under Fire competition.
Repour is a very smart wine preservation stopper and a game changer for preserving wine. Inside each stopper, Repour’s oxygen-absorbing materials continuously and actively remove the harmful oxygen from your wine, keeping it wonderfully fresh for as long as you enjoy the bottle, whether days, weeks, or months.
Repour was invented by Chemist and wine lover Tom Lutz. Repour is the first and only wine preservation product to utilize active and continuous oxygen absorption to eliminate ALL of the oxygen in the wine. That makes Repour the most effective, and easiest, wine preservation method available.
