Originally from southern California, Murphy attended culinary school at Culinary Institute of America in Greystone. After school, he moved to San Francisco and worked at Jardiniere. Murphy then moved to Austin where he is currently Jr. Sous at Searsucker. Murphy loves being in the kitchen and making people happy with something he created. He cites the ocean as a source of inspiration, as it gives him ingredients & has taught him how to respect products.
