I never go a day without eating breakfast. Unfortunately, my morning meals rarely consist of wonderful treats like avocado toast, mimosas and eggs benedict (sigh). Day-to-day life often gets hectic, and thus a simple apple and peanut butter or yogurt and berries have to suffice. Yet I cherish those weekend mornings when I’m given the opportunity to broaden my taste buds.
#KoolKeeperSummer The Most Important Meal of the Day
Contributing Author Georgia Thompson
Austin is well known for so many unique things, including its natives’ love for brunching. Personally, breakfast has always been a celebrated meal in my family. My mom always whipped up special birthday spreads for us before school, and my dad took the reigns on the blueberry pancakes each Saturday morning. And as I’ve grown up, this love has continued. Brunch with my friends at school has become an absolute favorite weekend event for catching up and laughing about the weekend’s events.
Thus, I was thrilled about the booming brunch scene here in Austin and couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into as many opportunities as possible. With tons of amazing restaurants’ morning menus to try, I still have many Austin breakfast experiences ahead of me, but here’s a peek into my favorites so far.
